Dr. Elizabeth Farnsworth relocated to Rapid City two years ago and has been delighted to engage with families in the Black Hills area. Her passion lies in supporting children and their families as they navigate life’s journey, from infancy through adolescence and beyond.
Dr. Farnsworth emphasizes the importance of involving families in their children’s care, ensuring that both the patient and the family comprehend and support the treatment and care received. She is dedicated to patient education and maintains a strong interest in the latest scientific developments in pediatrics due to her research background. Her practice covers a wide range of pediatric care, including wellness check-ups, acute care, mental health, asthma, sports physicals, and assisting foster families.
Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. Farnsworth cherishes spending quality time with her husband and children, caring for their new puppy, reading, immersing herself in nature, discovering new places, and encouraging her children in their academic and athletic pursuits.

Janessa Gross, C-NP

Janessa has always called the Black Hills home. She grew up in the hills and obtained her bachelor’s degree from South Dakota State University before she began traveling for her nursing career. She has spent several years working at various Emergency Departments in Southern California as well as Washington state prior to returning back to the Rapid City area.

Once she returned to the Black Hills, she worked in emergency medicine, surgical hospital as well as pain management while she attended graduate school. After receiving her master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from South Dakota State University she continued her career in emergency medicine before finding her place at Rapid City Medical Center.

Janessa has a passion for making a difference in people’s lives and feels that developing a caring and trusting patient relationship is a priority.

She enjoys spending her free time with friends and family paddle boarding, hiking, and camping as well as caring for their variety of farm animals and pets.

General Surgeons now offering vasectomies

Dr. Miller and Dr. Wempe now offer vasectomies in their clinics. These physicians use the MadaJet technology which is a needle free technology for the injection of the medication. This technology helps to provide a virtually pain free injection of anesthetic through the skin, reducing the pain associated with the procedure.

Under the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA), Dr. Schleiffarth has been granted his fellowship after passing his written and oral exams. He greatly enjoys helping his patients navigate a plan to tackle their allergies! Dr. Schleiffarth’s expertise in his multifaceted field of ENT and commitment to earning his fellowship in allergy will continue to serve patients in our community with outstanding care!
