Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, Dr. Jones spent much of his upbringing in Canada. He earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, completed his internship at Toronto General Hospital, and went on to residency training at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. Jones returned to Mayo Clinic for fellowship training in gastroenterology, completing his education in 1998.
After years of practice, Dr. Jones joined the Gastroenterology Department at Rapid City Medical Center in 2013, where he continues to provide trusted, patient-centered care. His broad expertise allows him to care for patients with both common and complex GI conditions, often eliminating the need for multiple referrals and ensuring continuity of care from initial consultation through treatment.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Jones enjoys exploring the outdoors with his wife and children, including mountain biking, hiking, and camping throughout the Black Hills and beyond. He is also an avid photographer and a devoted dog lover.
