The Rapid City Medical Center and The Endoscopy Center will host the Fourth Annual Bottoms Up for Colon Cancer 5K run/walk on Saturday, March 28.
The event, which aims to increase awareness of colon cancer, will raise money for early detection and prevention. Again this year all proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society’s initiative to increase screening rates. By meeting our fundraising goal, together, we can help prevent 277,000 new cases of colon cancer and 203,000 deaths within the next 20 years.
Last year we were able to raise over $5,000. This year we are setting out to hit the $6,000 mark. The proceeds will benefit the local American Cancer Society and promote early screening and prevention of colon cancer.
The race will start and finish at Founders Park in Rapid City. Registration will open at 10:30 a.m. and the race will begin at 11:00 a.m. The registration fee for all participants on race day is $25.
Registration forms are available at The Runner’s Shop, Rapid City Medical Center, and The Endoscopy Center or online at www.RCGastro.com. Early registration rates are $20 and $15 for Runners Club members.
The first 100 people to register will receive a beanie and all participants will receive a SWAG bag at registration. All fitness levels are welcome. This event is designed for the whole family to enjoy!
